Week Twenty Six - April 18th, 2025
Dear Parents & Guardians
It’s been a vibrant and action-packed week at GIS, with our campus buzzing from one exciting event to the next, a true reflection of the diverse experiences we offer our students.
We kicked things off with the BMI University Fair, where representatives from 27 top universities around the world engaged with our G10 and 11 students. From Canada to the UK, and all the way to Europe and beyond, students had the opportunity to explore future pathways, ask insightful questions, and gather valuable information as they look ahead to life beyond school. A big thank you to our University Counselling team for making this event such a success!
Meanwhile, GIS proudly played host to the GAAC Tournament, welcoming schools from across the region to compete in Badminton, Tennis, and Golf. The level of sportsmanship, skill, and school spirit on display was truly inspiring. Congratulations to all our student-athletes who represented us with pride, and to our staff and volunteers who made the tournament run like clockwork.
In the Arts Department the energy is building as final rehearsals for Peter Pan Jr. soar to new heights (literally!) With the opening night just a few days away, the cast and crew are putting the finishing touches on what promises to be a magical performance. Have you got your tickets yet? You won’t want to miss this spectacular production, it's going to be a show to remember!
And finally, today we send our Grade 12 students off on their study leave as they prepare for the IB World Exams, beginning the week after next. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and are confident that their hard work, resilience, and determination will shine through. We wish them the very best in this final stretch. You've got this, Class of 2025!
Enjoy the week ahead.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
