Week Twenty - February 21st, 2025
Dear Parents & Guardians,
As we approach the end of another eventful week, we want to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the incredible efforts of our students and staff.
First, a huge congratulations to our Grade 12 students, who have just completed their Trial Exams. We know this has been a demanding period, and we commend you for your dedication, resilience, and focus. These exams are an important milestone on your IB journey, and we hope they have provided valuable insight as you prepare for the final stretch. Well done to everyone.
We also found ourselves immersed in the celebration of Language Week, a vibrant tribute to the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds that make up our school community. From interactive activities in Homeroom to the Mother Tongue Book Stall, it has been inspiring to see students embracing different languages and recognizing the power of communication in all its forms. I would like to thank our Language teachers, and especially Ms Marta for coordinating this event.
We hosted the Gulf EduTour on Thursday, bringing together a diverse group of universities from around the world. Students engaged with representatives from Canada, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey and the USA. Universities such as Langara College, Glion, Les Roches & Ecole Ducasse, American University of Paris, and Nebrija University (Madrid), provided valuable insights into their programmes, admissions processes, and student life. Thank you to Ms Meena & Ms Rejina for organising this event and to our students for making the most of this exciting opportunity!
Unfortunately, I must also address a matter of concern. There has been a noticeable increase in vandalism within both the male and female washrooms. This behavior is deeply disappointing and completely unacceptable. Respect for our shared spaces is a fundamental expectation in our school, and deliberate damage shows a disregard for the community we are all part of. We urge all students to take responsibility for maintaining a safe and respectful environment. Let’s work together to ensure it remains a space we can all be proud of.
Finally, we also welcomed Stu Williamson Photography to campus for school photos this week. All students were issued with an individualised code to allow a preview of the images, and online ordering. Please ask your son/daughter for the card which contains the code.
As we move forward, we encourage everyone to continue demonstrating the values that define us, Respect, Trust and Ambition for all. Thank you for all your contributions to our school community, and let’s keep striving for success in all that we do!
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable week ahead!
Kind regards
Ms Amanda
