Week Eighteen - January 26th, 2024
Dear Parents & Guardians,
I am delighted to announce this week that GIS have partnered with the Sustainability Management School (SUMAS) in the latest addition to our Career-Related Progamme offerings. SUMAS offers our CP students a fast-track opportunity where a 3 year Bachelor degree can be completed over 2 ½ years due to the work completed in Grade 11 and 12. We are very excited about the opportunity this provides our students. Future GIS graduates can choose between the SUMAS Lake Geneva, Milan or online campuses. SUMAS offer six distinct pathways including Sustainable Hospitality, Sustainable Fashion, Nature Conservation, Sustainable Finance & Digitalization, Sustainable Culinary Art and Sustainable Tourism. We hosted Mikhil and Ivana from SUMAS earlier this week to mark this milestone in the life of GIS. They spoke to parents at this week’s ConnectED and they also spoke to Grade 10 & 11 students. Should you wish to know more, please access the SUMAS website through this link.
Our Grade 12 students commenced their Trial Examinations this week. These exams are given to allow our students, once again, to practice taking assessments in an exam setting. As much as possible the examinations are conducted in a manner that replicates the IB World exams that students will sit in April/May. This exam cycle will continue into next week and we wish our students well.
I would like to remind parents that our counsellors regularly provide important information to our community through the newsletter. If you have not discovered our Counsellor Corner just yet, please do click on the link below to access. The team regularly survey parents, plan coffee mornings and run workshops to assist our parent community.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
