Week Fourteen - December 8th, 2023
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Welcome to the last week of Term One!
As the term draws to a close, I would like to thank all families for their hard work and support! Each and every day I see the enormous effort that many of our students put into making this school the hard working, innovative and supportive environment that it is. Visitors regularly comment on the warm, caring ‘vibe’ they feel as they walk the corridors. Thank you and well done on a great effort. In celebration of this effort, Term One reports will be released later this afternoon. Please revert to the GEMS Connect app after 3:30 where you will be able access the document.
I would also like to take the opportunity to thank our amazing staff. It truly has been a very busy term, and staff have ensured that they maintained a positive, ‘we can do it’ attitude at all times. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Nick Ryan, who leaves us today to pursue an alternative career path. Nick has guided the I & S Team in a calm, wise manner in his time as HOD. He has established respectful relationships with staff and students, and he will be sorely missed by those that had the pleasure of working with him. Good luck Mr Nick!
Well done to all students who participated in the Sports Day this week. Mr Chris, the PE Team and the support staff did a great job of ensuring maximum participation and fun throughout the day. There were some extremely impressive performances by our talented sports people, in what were very warm conditions!
With that, I would like to wish all of our families a very enjoyable winter break. I hope you get the opportunity to refresh, relax and catch up with family and friends. If you are travelling, please stay safe, and if remaining in Dubai, enjoy the wonderful weather and opportunities this great city has to offer.
I look forward to seeing you all again in the new year.
Kind regards
Amanda Murphy
