Week Thirteen - November 21st, 2025
Dear Secondary Parents,
We would like to introduce our GIS StuELT 25-26 team.
We are so happy to be leading the team, and we hope for many new opportunities and ideas this year for our school community.
Co- Presidents
Hi everyone! My name is Zaineb Zouaoui. A bit about me: I am an ambitious learner, ready to drive change within the school. If you ever want to have a chat, I'm always free! And I am Ved Senan Nakhwa. I have been a student here at GIS for 12 years. I love academics, drama, politics and having conversations with new people. I can’t wait to work with the entire community and see how we conquer this year ahead! We are both very excited for the coming year, and it is an honour to be the first-ever StuELT CO-Presidents for GIS. Together, along with our dedicated, inspired and passionate team, we aim to change the face of StuELT and bring fresh new ideas and opportunities to all students. We believe the student body is at the heart of what we do, and with your support, we want to create a GIS where every student feels supported, valued and driven to leave their mark on our community.
Alisa Kurilova:
Hi! My name is Alisa Kurilova, and I’m honoured to serve as the Head of the Future Skills Academy this year. I'm excited to step in as part of the Student ELT and bring fresh and meaningful initiatives to our school community. It's my honour to finally be able to add more opportunities related to your lifelong goals, the kind that actually prepare you for the future (because apparently AI can’t do everything for us… yet). My goal this year is to listen to student voices and really hear what ideas you guys have to create opportunities for your future!
Vihaan Gadkary:
Hey GIS, Vihaan here, your new Head of House for this year. As an individual passionate about growth, sports and leadership, I’m here to reignite our passion for the House system. This year envisages Houses fused through growth opportunities in arts, sports, academics and more to enhance your community to achieve personal development. Together, let's build an environment of rhythm, pride and ambitious momentum.
Magda Wachowicz:
Hi, my name is Magda, and I’m so happy to be a part of the StudentELT this year and help spread art and creativity around our school. I have always had a strong connection to the Arts, which is why I’m so glad to be taking part in growing that creativity in the GIS hallways. I would love to help all of the artists show and present their abilities, and for the non-artist students to learn how to appreciate and love art too!
Alwy Badawy:
Hey Jaguars, my name is Alwy. I can’t wait to start working with my fellow student athletes and finally make the Jaguars at GIS feel as important as the effort we put into our academic reputation. My vision for the future of sport at GIS is to acknowledge and highlight individual and team excellence, embracing school culture, and enhancing the overall enthusiasm around our Jaguars teams at GIS.
Zaina Hewedi:
Hi everyone! I'm Zaina, and I’m super excited to serve as the Head of Student Life & Wellbeing Committee this year. I’ve been part of the committee for four years, including serving as Deputy Head last year, and my goal this year is to make wellbeing something students actually feel every day, not just during events. I can't wait to build a school environment where students genuinely feel seen, supported, and comfortable being themselves.
Saleha Kauser:
Hi everyone, my name is Saleha, and I am so excited to be your new Head of Inclusion at GIS this year! I am very passionate about promoting inclusion, and I look forward to sharing my vision with you all. I believe that every student's voice has the power to change our community, and through our kindness, support and awareness, we can transform our school into an environment where everyone can thrive. Thank you!
Prajna Mundra:
Hi! My name is Prajna Mundra, and I am extremely excited to be the new Head of Innovation. I am looking forward to sharing my passion for innovation with you through creativity, growth, and out-of-the-box ideas. I believe that every vision can be turned into a reality with passion and the right access to resources, and my goal is to help students transform their ideas into reality through initiatives, events, and challenges. I really look forward to working with all of you! Remember- Tesla has Elon, Microsoft has Gates, and GIS has Prajna for Innovation!
Bhadra Ajayan Rakendu:
Hi Everyone! I am Bhadra, and I am honoured to introduce myself as the new Head of Academics of GIS. I am extremely excited and passionate to work with everyone at GIS to create a positive and accessible learning environment where every student feels motivated. My vision for GIS is to create a community where every type of learner is empowered in their academic journey, through peer support initiatives, workshops, and olympiads, to enjoy the process of learning together. I am looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
Nour Hamroush:
Hi! My name is Nour, and I'm the new Head of Service and Sustainability in GIS. As I take on this role, I aim to transform our school into a place where helping others becomes a habit rather than a task, and allow students to engage in opportunities to help save our planet, our people, and feel encouraged to take action and strive. I hope to be able to convey the voices of all students because I know together we can shape a community of action, awareness and genuine change while working with new people and feeling like part of a community that truly cares. Always remember, even the smallest act can make the biggest difference, so never stop trying and take that first step!
