Week Eleven - November 7th, 2025
Dear Primary School Parents,
On Monday, as the UAE flag rose high outside our school, we joined the nation in celebrating the colors that unite us all. UAE Flag Day is a special moment that brings together everyone who calls this country home. It was wonderful to see our Emirati students and staff gathered proudly around the flag, singing the national anthem and listening to inspiring speeches from our Principal, Ms. Nevita Pandya, and our students. It was a beautiful reminder of our shared commitment to contributing positively to this great nation.
Last school year, a group of students were recommended by their homeroom teachers to participate in the ChallengeME Maths Championship based on their strong mathematics performance and results in the MAP standardized test. The championship was also open to any student eager to take on the challenge.
This exciting competition gives students the opportunity to celebrate their mathematical talent, think critically, and collaborate with peers while competing with students from over 100 schools across the Middle East. The championship consists of four stages, and students who successfully complete the first stage will move on to the next round.
Please join us in congratulating the following students who bravely tackled the first stage of the ChallengeME Maths Championship 2025–2026. They demonstrated perseverance, high-level problem-solving skills, and impressive focus within a set time limit.
Ryan - 4A; Jiin - 4F; Omar - 4E; Roman - 4E; Shaurya - 5C; Urvi - 5G; Varvara - 5G; Hon Lam Theodore Kuk - 5H; Sarp - 5H; Gabriele - 5D
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Tarryn Van Nieker for her support and work with the students.
Reinforcing Standards and Pride
Thank you for your continued support of our focus on behavior and uniform expectations. We’re seeing a wonderful positive shift across the school — students are arriving prepared, wearing their uniforms with pride, and showing the respect and focus that reflect our core values.
These shared expectations help our young people build responsibility, self-discipline, and a strong sense of belonging. Your encouragement at home reinforces the same positive messages we promote at school.
As we move through November, our focus remains on high standards, positive relationships, and purposeful learning. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and trust in all we’re building together at GIS.
Have a lovely week-end,
Warm regards,
Mirna Hafez Farah
Primary Principal

This IB affiliated platform will offer opportunities for parents to remain up to date with their child's academic progress.
The below class pages will host resources for parents and will no longer have weekly messages. All information will be sent through Toddle, so please inform your class teacher if you have any trouble registering.
