Woodshop- Located in room 413, Woodshop provides students the opportunity to design, build and create. Students who successfully complete three years of the carpentry sequence, Woodworking, Residential Carpentry and Honors Commercial Carpentry, have a direct pathway into the carpenters’ union’s full apprenticeship program. Completion of this program and acceptance into the union is equivalent to one year of the four-year apprenticeship program. Visit our website for more information.

Biomedical Magnet- The rigorous and relevant four-course PLTW Biomedical Science sequence allows students to investigate the roles of biomedical professionals as they study the concepts of human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology, and public health. Students investigate the "deaths" of a fictional person to learn the context of real-world cases. They examine the structures and interactions of human body systems and explore the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease while working collaboratively to understand and design solutions to the most pressing health challenges of today and the future. Each course in the Biomedical Science sequence builds on the skills and knowledge students gain in the preceding courses. Click here to learn more.

AFJROTC- Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) is one of two Magnet Programs at Oakcrest High School. It teaches cadets citizenship and important life skills. Focusing on community service and air/space science and history, the program uses the United States Air Force Core Values of Integrity, Service and Excellence as its foundation. By participating in various activities and assuming leadership roles, AFJROTC cadets develop a sense of responsibility, character and self-discipline. There is absolutely no military obligation associated with the AFJROTC program. Cadets who go on to college may receive special consideration for ROTC scholarships or for appointments to military academies. Cadets who do decide to join the military after high school graduation are eligible to enlist at a higher pay grade. Click here to learn more.

The Humanities is anchored by a curriculum created from high-interest, socially-relevant, contemporary works. We have English courses about zombies. Course about American Westerns. Courses that focus on marginalized identities and social justice. You will argue, write, debate and otherwise explore the issues of our day. We even have a classroom (and a course) modeled on Hogwarts and The Harry Potter series. At Oakcrest, English class are an "experience."
