Course Description
Grades 9-12
This course will provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of drafting and drafting tools used to create mechanical drawings.
Course Activities:
Drawing Isometric Sketches of Mechanical Parts
Develop Orthographic Drawings
Develop the front, side, and top views of a Part and put them together in a working drawing
Architectural Drafting
Drawing a floor plan, elevation views, footing plans, and section views of a home
Building a model of design

Computer-Aided Design and Drafting II
Course Description
Grades 10-12
In this second-year course, students will build on the fundamentals learned in CADD I and will allow for further mastery in their skills of using CADD software.
Course Activities:
Use inventor to create 3D models
Use a 3D printer to make designs a reality
Draw detail parts and create assembly drawing of mechanical parts
Draw a 3D model of a home using inventor to develop walls, foundation, doors, and windows
Bridge Model Project
Students design and build a bridge constructed from balsa wood. Bridges are judged on Aesthetic Qualities, Economical design, predicted strength, and total bridge strength.
CADD Designs
Students measure and replicate 3-D drawings of mechanical parts.
