A Bit about Me
I have been teaching for over 20 years now and, I can assure you, being in the classroom, with the children is where my soul sings! Honestly! I feel such gratitude for having the opportunity to do what I do.
My Experience
I received my teaching degree at the University of Regina and my Special Education Diploma at the University of British Columbia. I have taught from Kindergarten through Grade Eight at primary, elementary and middle schools in both Saskatchewan and British Columbia. I was also a Learning Assistance Resource Teacher for five years before heading back to the classroom. For the past several years, I have been providing Professional Development opportunities for SD#73 educators on social emotional learning, self-regulation and mindfulness practices in the elementary classroom.
My Family
I live with my wonderful husband and two incredible daughters who are now in grade 9 and grade 11. We love camping, hiking and spending time outside. I also usually spend a lot of time in the stands in school gyms as my daughters both LOVE team sports. I am an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction; Literacy, Math and Mindfulness are my passions and often what I learn about for fun! One other thing I should share, and that you might already know if I have taught another one of your children, is that I laugh... a lot... and loud!
Like your family, my family has also experienced a lot of changes in our daily lives due to COVID- 19. I know that together we can work towards a safe, joyful, optimistic year of learning!
Warmly,
Stacey Kaczur
