Financial Commitment…
When your child has committed to playing the sport, you and your child are agreeing to the financial commitment of playing that sport for the entire season, regardless of whether they can attend or not. Team fees are split evenly among the team. There is no option to opt out of tournament or league fees. If you cannot commit to full attendance of the season, you and your child need to discuss if this is in the best interest of your family. If there is a financial hardship, please inform the coach, school, or Ms. Marchi so that there is an option for your child to still be able to play. Jumpstart and KidSport are always available as an option to help with the costs of the seasons. Once you have made the team and committed to the season, fees will include the school athletic fee, bus subsidy fee, tournament fees, team swag(optional), fees for officials, Okanagans, and possible Provincials. If your child chooses to quit the team mid-season, please be aware that you will still be expected to pay the fees for the duration of the season, as the budgets were to have included your child from the beginning. Also, leaving a team mid-season may affect the student’s ability to participate in other sports. Future teams may be notified that the student failed to complete the previous sports season and that their level of commitment may not be there.
