I would suggest to watch this video about Pablo Picasso first. At this point you only need a pencil to draw some sketches. When you come up with a Picasso style portrait you like now you are ready for the steps below:
Now to create the 3D Picasso style portrait (like the examples above) you will need: pencil, scissors, liquid glue(elmers), black marker, cardboard, tempera paint (if cardboard is white you can use markers).
3. Once you have selected the sketch you want to create in 3-D. Cut out all your pieces that are on the drawing paper. Place the outer shape of the mask on the cardboard and cut out. That is the silhouette of the mask. Then the different facial features: eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, ... (separate pieces) place them on another piece of cardboard and cut them out. Glue all the facial features onto the silhouette of mask (remember Picasso's style of Cubism).
4. Paint the different parts with tempera paint or markers, and then finally decorate it with different objects and recycled elements.
