READ, WRITE or GET CREATIVE!
These tasks were created with both the parent and the student in mind. These skills may be repeated for practice. For example, a journal prompt may be given each week in response to a respective text. The activities weave literacy skills together as each week requires tasks for students to listen, speak, read, and write.
Each week you will be encouraged to practice your writing skills. Practice using a basic essay format. Include an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. Remember to include a strong thesis statement (main idea) in your introduction that will provide a road map for your essay. Use your narratives and your experiences during this time to support your claims in the body of your essay.
