About Us...
The Liheng Famagu’on Program (LFP), under the purview of the Guam Department of Education, J.P. Torres Success Academy; is located at the Department of Youth Affairs (DYA). LFP provides students access to education and social-emotional learning while detained at DYA. Learning environments are student-centered, structured, and relevant to relationship building and real-world problem-solving applications. The program aims to foster a supportive environment that encourages critical thinking, self-reflection, and responsibility. Through a combination of life skills development, individualized support, and credit recovery students are given the tools they need to make positive changes in their lives and to successfully reintegrate into society. LFP teachers believe that all students have the ability to learn when given the appropriate environment to succeed. LFP teachers implement flexible strategies and tiered instruction that focus on building positive student-teacher relationships and innovative approaches to learning while providing support for each student’s individual needs.
