Lecture Title: 1,3-Azaphospholes as Promising Materials for Organic Semiconductors

Thursday, 25 January 2024, 5.10 pm – 5.40 pm (MEZ)

Abstract:

Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have found plenty of applications in the development of materials and (opto)electronic devices. One particularly efficient design tool to alter the physical and chemical properties of such compounds is the incorporation of heteroatoms, for example phosphorus. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction on the properties of phospholes in general. Additionally, a novel synthetic pathway to π-conjugated 1,3-azaphospholes will be discussed. A mix of computational and spectroscopic studies will be used to describe fundamental structure-property relations and give a hint on possible applications of these compounds.
