Walter Hines Page High School became an authorized IB World School on February 15, 2008.Since then, Page’s IB Programme has provided a rigorous, global-minded curriculum rooted in six subject groups, with the IB “Core” components (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, Creativity-Activity-Service) embedded in our students' experience. At Page, the IB Diploma Programme is part of the choice schools offerings in the district and draws students from across Guilford County.

Taking IB classes gives students a chance to challenge themselves while building the skills they need for college and beyond. The IB curriculum encourages strong writing, critical thinking, and global awareness, and students learn to manage their time, analyze complex ideas, and communicate confidently. Colleges value IB because it shows a student can handle rigorous, college-level work—and in many cases, IB exams can lead to college credit or advanced placement. Most importantly, IB courses help students grow into reflective, well-rounded learners who are ready to thrive in a world that asks them to think independently and understand different perspectives.
