All GCSD middle school students are required to complete Summer Reading. It is our intention to continue moving students forward and avoid losing ground during the summer. All rising 6th grade students will be provided a copy of Ahmed Aziz's Epic Year by Nina Hamza; copies of this book will be delivered to each elementary school prior to the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Students are not required to read this book for summer reading, but it is an option that will be provided to all students. The summer reading assignment will be posted below as it is made available by Georgetown County School District.
The summer reading assignment for the 24-25 school year has not been released yet. Once it has been made public by the district it will be posted here. A copy of last year's assignment is posted to give you an idea of what you can expect for this summer's reading.
