Sebastian Blanck is a painter and musician. In the late 1990s, he became a founding member of the experimental electronica group Black Dice along with Bjorn Copeland, Hisham Bharoocha and Eric Copeland. He has worked as a composer for short films and documentaries including; Thinking XXX (2004), Ghosts of Grey Gardens (2005), About Face: Supermodels Then and Now (2012) and more. Blanck is based out of New York City. He has had solo exhibitions at Baldwin Gallery in Aspen Colorado, Bjorn Wetterling Gallery in Stockholm and Werkstatte Gallery in New York.
He has a rich history in music, having been part of several bands and primarily playing guitar. Sebastian owns various microphones, amps, and uses Pro Tools for music production. When he has only a few songs to work with, he prefers to send them to more skilled individuals for tasks like drumming, mixing, and mastering. Sebastian has toured extensively with his band, playing numerous shows, and utilized platforms like Myspace for exposure. For copyrighting his music, he has used BMI, and he has engaged in deals to have his music featured in movies or TV shows. Sebastian generates song ideas from his extensive musical background, often starting with guitar compositions. With thousands of song concepts accumulated over the years, he typically begins the songwriting process on the guitar. As for making money from his music, Sebastian has pursued opportunities such as movie and TV deals and has considered touring and headlining shows with artists of a similar style to expand his audience.
