Who I interviewed
Michael Hilgendorf is a guitar teacher who works all across New York and New Jersey, and I have worked with him in the past. When this year long project came about, I realized that he was one of the perfect people to talk to about my research paper. We talked a lot about the process of songwriting, and music production, and as a jazz musician, he shared his proccess in engaging the audience during his own performances. He shared the type of character he tries to portray on stage, and how he and his band are able to attain attention through their actions during their performances.
Sherman Foote is a member of the Grace Church High School community, as he is the husband of Ms. Foote, who is our Admissions Associate and our Student and Family coordinator. He was incredibly kind to sit down with me, and explain his role in the music world. He shared his story, and how he learned to become a talented instrumentalist, as well as vocalist. He shared how he was able to attain attention from audeinces, and what it meant to find success in songrwriting. Mr. Foote was kind enough to spend more than an hour and a half talking to me about these topics. I found them incredibly interesting and thought provoking, even if you are not into any facet of the music world. If you would like to hear more, please listen to the podcast attatched.
The Second Half of Podcast with Mr. Sherman (the half with questions related to this project).
