Pop music is a genre unlike any other, and until fairly recently, not many people paid much attention to it. However, it is on the rise, (and has been on the rise for many years) more than any other genre. Imagine Dragons are a prime example of the rapid rise and attention associated to pop music. With their energetic stage presence, loud and imposing beats, and very descripitive lyrics, most people find it difficult not to enjoy their music. Pop music typically attatches rythms and tempos that can be easily danced to, and gives the audienec a hook that they can rememebr for a long time. Repeated choruses are also one of the easiest ways to recognize a pop song, as this engages the audience quickly, and typically gives them a good idea about what the song is really about. Finally, pop music is typically written in a more consistent verse and chorus structue, giving the audience a repeated song structure, and one that they can listen to fairly consistently.Â
