Now that I have interviewed four different forensic psychologists, and extensively researched forensic psychology and the criminal justice system, I feel I have come to a better understanding on my topic. The penal system in America is flawed, and forensic psychology is one field that can improve the injustices in our penal system. Forensic psychologists use their knowledge to accurately diagnose patients, and provide them with the best possible care, and it is a field that should be more widely known. When deciding I wanted to focus on Forensic psychology many of my peers had never ever heard of this field, much less understood the importance of it. All four psychologists I interviewed mentioned that they need more people in the field, and I hope my project will help to better educate people on forensic psychology, and maybe even convince them to pursue forensic psychology as a profession.
