IDEATION PROCESS
When I began brainstorming my March Madness project, I knew I wanted to do something relating to psychology or marine biology. I discovered that many people were doing their project on marine biology, so I decided to focus on psychology. After researching different types of psychologists, as well as watching CSI and Criminal Minds, I decided I wanted to focus specifically on forensic psychology. It is a small and newly developing area of psychology, and I think it needs to be more widely known.
PROJECT EVOLUTION
After I decided I wanted to do a project on forensic psychology I knew I had to decide how I wanted my project to look. I knew I wanted to write a short essay about forensic psychology, but I didn’t want that to be my entire project. I decided to write an essay, as well as creating a video that consists of a series of interviews. After interviewing a few forensic psychologists over zoom, I decided a podcast would be a more efficient way to display my information. When adding my essay to my website, I decided breaking it up into subcategories would make it clearer for people to read and easier for me to present.
HOW I WORK
My March Madness project has taught me a lot about how I work. I discovered that I work better under pressure, which is why I didn’t accomplish as much the first week of March Madness as I would have liked to. During the second week of March Madness though I was much more productive, and I was able to complete my project by the due date. Through this process I also discovered that I can only work in quiet environments, which is why I spent the majority of both March Madness weeks working from home.
