Project Reflection:
I wanted a project that would be fun, challenging, and related to media. I brainstormed many ideas before deciding on making three short films to show how emotion can be conveyed through film techniques like editing, use of color, and music. Throughout the process, I found that I get stuck on certain ideas rather than changing them and learned that when I am focused, I fly through work quickly and effectively. When I don't have ideas or am in a bad mood, I can procrastinate a lot (like how I finished this website 5 minutes before it was due).
Film Creation Reflection:
I learned a lot about film editing and how long (very long) it takes to get edits right. I also learned to use Final Cut Pro, which I had never used before. In my Fear short, it took a very long time to make many drastic edits to warp the footage along with many little touches that are intended to convey a sense of fear and dread. For the happy and sad films, I purposely used very similar footage to show how the same source material can be changed through edits to color and sound to convey different emotions.
