For an individual that is fully licensed in another state or a North Carolina university teacher education graduate, the responsibility to apply for the license with DPI falls on the individual.

The appointed CCS Licensure Specialist must submit applications for Lateral Entry, Provisional, Validation, and initial Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) licenses.

Completion of an approved education program in a regionally accredited college or university shall be the standard and preferred basis for licensure established by the State Board of Education.
