About Me

About Mrs. Rice

Hello! I am a new North Carolinian and a second year teacher at South Granville High School (SGHS). Prior to pursuing a career in education, I worked as a Program Specialist at The Arc of Crawford County in Meadville, PA, providing support to over 100+ individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) along with their families and staff to assist them in creating, maintaining, and managing their own services and goals. In my "free time," I also worked as a domestic and sexual violence counselor at a local women's shelter. I am a graduate of both Allegheny College (Class of 2014) and the Peddie School (Class of 2011).

Despite having moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania, I was raised as a true Jersey-girl on McGuire Air Force Base in Burlington County, New Jersey. Growing up in the Garden State gave me a love of farmer's markets and boardwalks, a love that has been carried with me into North Carolina.

I love animals and has had several pets, including cats and rabbits. My hobbies include cooking, knitting, painting, gardening, and traveling.
