For all students in grades 3-13. For Fall 2022, students will complete the SEL Screener.
EOY Window is Oct - Oct
Goal is at least 90% participation at each school
Screener should be administered, not just sent out to students
Accommodations should be given to those students that have them
Data will be uploaded into our Early Warning System and will be used by school improvement teams to reflect on this year and set goals for next year.
Two indicators for our district's Strategic Plan come from this data:
percentage of students that report at least 3 strengths
percentage of students that feel their school is safe

An opt-out letter will be sent home to parents. The district will provide copies and send it home electronically. Here is the spreadsheet where admins and counselors can see who has opted out.
A video introduction about what the screener is for staff members. Scroll down to "See how measuring SEL works with Panorama" and click the play button.
A script to use when administering the screener. Staff or parents that are giving the survey can use this script.
Slides with student instructions if you need them.
A short video explaining the answer choices to students.
A vocabulary lesson for students if you think they need some help with any of the terminology. Here’s the Spanish version if you need it.
Copies of the screener for staff that need to read it aloud:
School administrators and school counselors can see response rates and completion lists for their respective school here. This page gives instructions on how to access your results once you log in.
What about students in our intensive needs and sustained support classrooms? Do they need to take it? If you have any students that take the EXTEND1 assessment and are not participating, please reply back to this email with the number of students and I will subtract them from your total.
What if we put the student ID in and it doesn't work? The list of students sent to Panorama was downloaded from PowerSchool on April 18. If the student was not enrolled on that date, they do not have to take the survey. Give the student an alternate activity to do during the survey.
What if a student refuses to take it? Parents have already had the opportunity to opt out, but if a student does not want to take it or says their parent does not want them to take it, just let me know and I will subtract that number from your total. Give the student an alternate activity to do during the survey.
Why do some of my students see 3 surveys? HS and MS students that are enrolled in a GO class will see a Granville Academy Granville Public School District Student Supports + Environment Survey, but do not need to take the Granville Academy one, just the one for their base school.
