Reading: Module 1: What Makes Us Who We Are?
This module centers around identity and how the people, places, and experiences we share build who we are. We will be reading some great fiction texts with a focus on text features, theme, figurative language, author's purpose, and story elements.
Writing/Grammar: Our first writing unit focuses on narratives. We will be planning, writing, and editing our own personal narratives with a focus on sentence structure and punctuation.
40 Book Challenge
40 Book Challenge
Every year I challenge students to try to read 40 books for the school year. These can be a mix of chapter books and short stories, as well as physical of online books. Any time a student completes a book throughout the school year they can fill out a short Google form to track their progress. They also have a visual board in their binders to track their progress visually. Please help your students at home to access a variety of genres and motivating them to reach their goal.
