Beatriz is a Senior researcher at the Language Processing and Information Systems Group (GPLSI) of the University of Alicante. She is a member of the SEPLN and the DiverTLes communities. Her main research lines are text simplification, focused on both easy-to-read and plain language, and corpus linguistics applied to violent discourse and toxicity detection.
Paloma is a Professor in the Department of Software and Computing Systems (DLSI) of the University of Alicante and Researcher in national and European projects at the Language Processing and Information Systems Group (GPLSI). She has extensive experience in the field of semantic analysis and simplification. She is a member of the SEPLN and the DiverTLes communities. She is Principal Investigator of the CLEARTEXT project (TED2021-130707B-I00), focused on implemenenting NLP to make digital content clearer for people with cognitive disabilities.
Isabel is a Senior researcher at the Language Processing and Information Systems Group (GPLSI) and Associate Lecturer in the English Department of the University of Alicante. She is a member of the SEPLN and the DiverTLes communities. Her main research interests include Lexicology and English for Specific Purposes, with particular attention to the language of color, and text simplification and Easy-to-read adaptation.
Alba is a Senior researcher at the Language Processing and Information Systems Group (GPLSI) and Associate Lecturer in the Department of Software and Computing Systems (DLSI) of the University of Alicante. She is a member of the SEPLN and the DiverTLes communities. Her main lines of research are corpus linguistics applied to disinformation and toxicity detection, summarization evaluation and simplification tasks. She was part of the organising committee of the FLARES task at IberLEF 2024.
Raúl is a Programmer at the University of Alicante and a technician in the Language Processing and Information Systems Group (GPLSI). He has experience in data structures, AI algorithms, and semantic analysis of documents. He is pursuing a Cross-Platform Application Development degree, and he is currently focused on research projects that integrate innovative technologies for trend identification and advanced information processing.
Itziar is an Associate professor in the Department of Basque Language and Communication teaching Basque for Specific Purposes in the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao and in the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UPV/EHU. She is a member of the Ixa group and of the HiTZ center. She is member of the DiverTLes community. Her research is focused on readability assessment, automatic text simplification, development of lexical, semantic and terminological resources and evaluation of large language models. She has experience on the organization of scientific workshops.
Margot is a PhD candidate in Computational Linguistics, focusing on Easy-to-Read language for Spanish and German. She has taught the seminar in Machine Translation and has collaborated in teaching Semantics at the Faculty of Media in Hochschule Darmstadt. Her main research interests focus on accessibility, readability and text simplification.
Mª Teresa is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jaén and Researcher in the SINAI research group. She has led three national R&D&I projects and participated in multiple European and national initiatives. Currently, she is working on simplifying hospital discharge medical texts in the cardiology department to improve patient comprehension. She is a member of the SEPLN and the creator of the DiverTLes community. Her main research lines focus on opinion and emotion analysis, text mining, machine learning, and information retrieval, applied to biomedicine and hate speech detection. She has also played a key role in organizing several national and international conferences.
L. Alfonso Ureña-López is a Professor of Computer Science and Director of the SINAI research group at the University of Jaén. He has been president of the SEPLN (Spanish Society of Natural Language Processing). His research focuses on Natural Language Processing, LLLMs, Word Sense Disambiguation tasks, Text Categorization, Sentiment Analysis, Offensive Language, Hope Speech, etc. He has organized and chaired numerous conferences in the area of NLP. He has also formed and is a member of numerous scientific committees of conferences and workshops on NLP. He has directed and directs many research projects in the field of NLP.
Lucas is a Student in Computer Engineering at the University of Jaén and Member of the SINAI research group. His research is focused on artificial intelligence applications for medical text processing and deep learning, specializing in the simplification of complex texts. He has worked on AI projects such as cancer stratification from radiology reports, developing machine learning models for medical applications. Currently, his work focuses on NLP applied to biomedicine, specifically in developing systems that automatically simplify hospital discharge reports in cardiology.
