Cameron Roucloux

Cameron Roucloux will be starting his sixth year as the head director of the Temple High School Choir Department and his nineth year of teaching overall. Mr. Roucloux is a legacy choir director, having grown up watching his father director church choirs in Pflugerville, Texas. Additionally, he is a product of the Pflugerville High School Choir Program, under the direction of Davina Hendrix and Susan Neff. He was a three time All Region- Choir selection, in addition to receiving superior ratings at TSSEC, playing the lead in school musicals, and was a member of the 2007 State Finalist Panther Football Team.

Mr. Roucloux received a music scholarship to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. While at UMHB, Mr. Roucloux studied voice with Dr. Guy Wilson and Mrs. Lisa Clement, and conducting from Dr. Michelle Roueche and Dr. Matt Crosby. Following his graduation from UMHB with a Bachelors of Church Music, Mr. Roucloux worked for one year at Taylor Middle School and High School in Taylor, Texas, before becoming the assistant director at Temple High School in 2015. Mr. Roucloux took over the position of Head Director in 2016. Under his direction, the Temple High School Choir Program has had numerous students placed in the All Region Choirs, TMEA All State Choirs, receive Division I ratings at UIL Solo and Ensemble and TSSEC, and have earned 11 UIL Sweepstakes Trophies since 2016.

Mr. Roucloux graduated summer (2020) from the University of Texas A&M Commerce with a Masters in Music Education with a conducting emphasis. Mr. Roucloux studied under the guidance of Dr. Randal L. Hooper during his time at TAMUC.

Mr. Roucloux has been married to his beautiful wife Jamie, for seven years. They have a beautiful and crazy daughter, Olivia June, and two Great Danes, Remy and Zoey. Additionally, Mr. Roucloux was the Music Director at Troy United Methodist Church in Troy, Texas for 8 years, and currently serves as the Music Associate at Salado United Methodist Church. Mr. Roucloux has served as a board member of the Temple Symphony Orchestra for the past five years, and currently presides as the President of the Board of Directors, additionally he serves on the board of Love Temple, Tx. Mr. and Mrs. Roucloux love the Temple community and look forward to continuing to work with the young people of Temple through the medium of music.

Megan Burt

Megan Burt will be starting her fourth year teaching this year, and third at Temple High School. She previously taught at Copperas Cove Junior High. Ms. Burt was born and raised in Garland, TX, a suburb of Dallas. She attended Naaman Forest High School and sang under the direction of Robert Draper and Joel Roberts. Ms. Burt was a three-year member of the renaissance select ensemble as well as a three-year All-Region member. Additionally, Ms. Burt was a member of the volleyball team and National Honor Society.

Ms. Burt received a scholarship to attend Texas A&M University Commerce where she studied classical voice under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Glidden and choral education under the direction of Dr. Randall Hooper. She was an active performer with the opera department where she performed roles such as Atalanta in Handel’s Xerxes and Serafina in Donizetti’s il companello di notte. Ms. Burt was also a featured soloist for Texas A&M Commerce at their 2018 TMEA performance.

Ms. Burt lives in Temple with her cat, Squeaks, and her espresso machine. She likes to explore new hobbies in her spare time. Recently, she has taken up upholstery, crocheting and listening to audio-books. Ms. Burt is excited to start a new journey in Temple and get to know the community through her work with music.

Dawna Mischtian

Dawna Mischtian is beginning her 14th year as the THS Choir Accompanist. She has been accompanying choirs and ensembles since she was a THS student herself, where she played for the Freshman Women's Choir and Polyfoniks. She accompanied choirs and ensembles as a student at Temple Junior College, touring domestically and internationally. She has served as audition and rehearsal pianist, and as pit orchestra pianist for numerous musical theater productions at THS, Temple Civic Theatre, and for community organizations and ensembles. She also accompanies band and orchestra students for UIL solo and ensemble competitions.

Mrs. Mischtian holds a BA in Psychology from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, and a MA in Behavioral Sciences and Psychology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, Texas. Prior to joining the THS Fine Arts team, she had a long career in the administration of children's psychiatric hospitals in the Houston area and locally.

Mrs. Mischtian lives in Temple with her husband, John. They have two children, Zoe and Nick, who were both active in music while at THS. Zoe graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, where she was a member of the Concordia Choir. She is now an elementary teacher in Fargo, North Dakota. Nick played bass player as a member of the TAMU Jazz Band, and currently gigs with his band Push To Start all over the College Station area.
