Dr. Freda Givens
Dr. Freda Givens serves as the Chief Executive Officer of G Clef Solutions, LLC, a premier educational leadership consulting firm. She is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in the Metropolitan Atlanta area, where she served for many years as a school principal leading dynamic teams of educators. Through her leadership, vision, and strategic direction, Dr. Givens consistently advanced student achievement and strengthened school communities.
Dr. Givens brings a wealth of professional experience from her previous roles as an Elementary School Principal, Middle School Principal, Assistant Principal, Instructional Technology Specialist, and Music Teacher in both secondary and post-secondary educational settings. Her diverse background enables her to support schools and organizations with practical, research-based leadership strategies that drive meaningful improvement.
She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education, a Specialist Degree in Curriculum Management, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Dr. Givens remains committed to continuous professional learning and has completed additional post-doctoral professional development to stay abreast of current trends in education, including participation in the Harvard Principal’s Center Summer Institute.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. Givens actively serves in various community organizations. During her time in the classroom, she was twice honored as Teacher of the Year. Among her many recognitions, she received a Resolution from the Georgia General Assembly in 2017, honoring her contributions and achievements as an educational leader.
In 2021, the school under Dr. Givens’ leadership was selected to participate in a $2.8 million Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education through ArtsNOW, a national nonprofit dedicated to authentic arts integration in education. Dr. Givens has also shared her expertise as a conference presenter at regional, state, and national levels.
