Example Below
Here is the controller Mr. Granahan designed and made to go with the game he designed.
Here you can see the cardboard controller with all the copper foil tape that is used for the electrical connection.
This is the top or cover of the controller. It has the controls listed as well as covering the cardboard to make the controller look better.
Here are views of the controller put together, a view from the top(left) and the back (right). All the copper foil tape on the handle and back of the controller is the ground for the Makey Makey.
If you would like to use more controls than the arrow keys and spacebar then look at the image below. You can easily add controls for the following keys: w,a,s,d,f,g, & mouse controls, this is in addition to the arrow keys, spacebar, and mouse click.
How to make a step on controller to use with your game.
Use 2 wires, one goes to ground (earth) the other goes to your key.
Place a strip of metal tape to the center of a piece of cardboard and attach a wire.
Repeat with a second piece of cardboard. Attach some strips along the side of this piece of cardboard to separate the two metal strips of tape from touching.
When you press down on the cardboard, the two pieces of metal tape will touch acting like a button.
