For this engineering challenge, you will:
Learn about the aerodynamics of a rocket
Design a rocket
Build and launch a paper rocket
Objective: To build a rocket that can fly the greatest distance. Your team will earn one point per foot for the longest distance rocket in your team.
Step #1 Learn how a rocket flies through the air.
Step #3 Build
Part 1
Build your paper rocket.
Decorate your rocket to differentiate (make it unique) your rocket from all the rockets in the class. Make sure you write your team name on your rocket.

Part 2
Then create a second experimental rocket. Create a unique design, and then build the second rocket to see if it even works.
Step #4 Test your rocket
We will go outside and you can test launch your rocket.
Step #5 Make any modifications
Once you have tested your rocket, what can be done to improve the design? What changes or repairs do you need to make to your rocket? Now is the time to make those changes and repairs.
Step #6 Flight distance challenge
We will go outside and you will launch your rocket. Distances will be measured to see which rocket was able to fly the longest distance.
