GES Families,
The 2025-2026 school year is almost here, and I'm thrilled to be joining the GES family! I enjoyed connecting with some of you at our May meet and greet, and I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you throughout the year.
A little about me: I'm stepping into my 16th year in education, and I've had the privilege of working at every level here in GCISD. My journey includes teaching 5th grade at Bear Creek, serving as a teacher, coach, and learning liaison at Cross Timbers Middle, and most recently, as assistant principal at Grapevine High. GES holds a special place in my heart, as my son attended Pre-K here with Mrs. Finch & Mrs. Ellis and will be returning as a third grader! When I asked him what he's most excited about, he simply said, "Seeing my old friends and making new friends!" We're both incredibly excited to become part of the Star family.
I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing summer, full of precious family moments. My husband Steven, Levi, and I recharged with a fantastic week soaking up the sun at the beach in Dauphin Island, Alabama.
This year, our guiding theme is "Level Up Learning." Our vision is to make the learning process clear, motivating, and deeply personal for every student. We want them to understand exactly where they are, what they need to do to grow, and to celebrate every single accomplishment along their educational journey. We are so excited for your student to join us on this adventure and "Level Up" their learning at GES!
You'll notice a small but important change in how we communicate this year. Instead of the Monday Message, I'll be transitioning to the Sunday Star News. You can expect our weekly newsletter, filled with upcoming events, key dates, and important information, to land in your inbox every Sunday evening.
You'll also see that I'll be signing off each newsletter with "Together We Shine." This isn't just a phrase; it's a commitment. "Together" emphasizes the essential collaboration between families, staff, community members, and administration—all working hand-in-hand to uplift and support our incredible Stars!
As we move through the year, please know that my door is always open to support your students. Amidst any new initiatives, our steadfast goal is to continuously cultivate and strengthen the welcoming family culture that defines GES. This culture extends to every single one of our amazing students and parents. Should you ever have questions or feedback, please know that I am here to listen and deeply appreciate our partnership.
I'm looking forward to a fantastic school year together!
Together We Shine! ⭐

As we create our class placements for students for the '25-'26 school year, please ensure your student is registered. Registration is still open for all new and returning students. The earlier you register, the better we can plan.
The following links will help you access registration documents:
Kinder Star Camp July 30, 2025: Last names A-L attend from 9:00-11:00 AM and last names M-Z attend from 1:00-3:00 PM.
Pre-K Mingle July 31, 2025: 4:00-5:15 or 5:45-7:00 pm. Sign up for the session HERE.
Information for both of these events was sent out to families last week. If you did not receive an email, please ensure you have fully completed registration for your child and email brooke.teeterstocz@gcisd.net. We're excited to welcome our littlest STARS to GES this year!
Please save the date for Meet the Teacher 2025! School begins on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, so we will have Meet the Teacher on Monday night, August 11, 2025, from 4:30-6:00 pm. This is a come-and-go event, so feel free to stop in when your schedule allows. During this event, your Star can meet their new teacher, see their new classroom, reconnect with friends, and bring their supplies to leave in their classroom!
Our PTA will be set up in the cafeteria with various tables and opportunities for families to join the PTA, check out our PTA-sponsored clubs, and more!
Additionally, our PTA is hosting an In-N-Out Burger dinner event, where families can order burgers and enjoy reconnecting with friends before or after their student meets their teacher. (See information below in the PTA section to pre-order your food!)
We also encourage all families to print their "First Day of School" visitor badge at our kiosks while on campus.
Walking your child to class on the first day of school is a time-honored tradition. We want all of our families who choose to be able to walk their child to class on Wednesday, August 13th, and take pictures before giving their kids a big hug and wishing them a great day! However, we need your help! In order to safely have all visitors in the building, EVERYONE (over the age of 18) will need to Raptor in at our kiosks in the vestibule. In an effort to alleviate long lines on the first morning of school, we are allowing families to print their "First Day of School" visitor badge in advance. You may do this at Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 11th, from 4:30 - 6:00 OR on Tuesday, August 12th, from 8:00-4:00 pm. You will simply scan your valid ID and print the badge, then hold onto it until Wednesday morning. When you arrive on campus on Wednesday, please plan to wear your badge on your shirt where it can be visible to all staff and have your photo ID available as you enter the building so we can ensure it matches the badge. We will have plenty of staff at the main foyer entrances to allow all those with a printed badge to enter quickly. We appreciate your support and cooperation as we continue this tradition in a safe manner for all students and staff.
Independence Day this year will be on Thursday, August 14th! Families will be able to walk their children to the foyer entrances and send them off into the building independently from there. We will have lots of adults stationed and ready to help escort students to their classrooms.
If you missed the PTA School Supply order in the spring and will be shopping on your own, HERE is a copy of the GCISD School Supply list for elementary students. Teachers will determine how supplies are handled within their classrooms. If you have a strong preference for your child to only utilize their own supplies, please let your child's teacher know. Ensure your child's supplies and pencil box are clearly labeled to help them keep track of their items.
If you ordered supplies, those will be picked up at Meet the Teacher Night.
This is a live Google Calendar that we will keep updated throughout the year with campus activities. Click the calendar to open it up so you can switch to week or month view and look at future dates. Please check back frequently for new additions.
