GCISD Secondary STEM
Habits of Mind
Each month of the school year teachers will focus on the Habit of Mind for that month. Students will complete Habits of Mind activities in Canvas modules as teachers see fit to assign them. The activities are small lessons (5-10 min) that promote and define these characteristics.
The following will be completed by each grade level:
A STEM student of the month that exemplifies this characteristic will be named.
This student will be highlighted on the website and newsletters
Students may apply for a characteristic if they chose to or teachers may nominate.

Taking Responsible Risks - January
Self-Regulation - February
Adaptability - March
Striving for Accuracy - April
Metacognition - May
