3rd Grade Homeroom Fund
Hi Parents & Families!
As the school year gets underway there are a few priorities to take care of to ensure your student is off to a great start! This includes purchasing the homeroom fund! This will provide your student with their class shirt. Class shirts are needed for events like field trips and field day. The best way to ensure your student receives theirs timely and in the right size is to purchase the homeroom fund. This will also cover events such as class parties throughout the school year. Please follow this link to complete this step: https://octaylorpta.membershiptoolkit.com/login-form?r=%2F
Any questions? Contact our PTA president, Erica McCormick at octaylorptapresident@gmail.com
Gently used picture books, chapter books, and old magazines are always welcome donations for our classrooms. (Magazines will be used for a special project at the end of the school year and will not be in the hands of students.)
Don't toss those empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls!
Mrs. Waters, our GT LEAD teacher, is always in need of these for her classroom.
Thank you for all of your support!
Absences & Ride Changes
Student Absences: Please email your child's homeroom teacher and oct.attendance@gcisd.net anytime your child will be absent.
Ride changes: Please email danielle.harp@gcisd.net and grace.sigrest@gcisd.net by 2:00 p.m. whenever your child is going home in a way other than normal.
Breakfast, Snacks, and Water
Please be sure that your child eats a good breakfast before school. We start our day as soon as they walk in the door. Please send a small (peanut-free) snack and refillable water bottle with your child each morning.
Chromebooks and Headphones
Please be sure your child has either a working set of wired earbuds or headphones that can be left at school. We need them for the work that we do with technology. We kindly ask that you avoid wireless earbuds/headphones. They do not work well with Chromebooks. Also, please help remind your child each night to charge their Chromebooks!
Birthdays
Birthdays are special! We will celebrate your child's special day by singing in our classroom. You may send in small treats like pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. if you choose. Please refrain from sending in any food items. If you do send in any food item, it needs to be individually wrapped with the nutrition label.
