CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the objective to build an RFID based attendance system was successfully achieved. In terms of performance and efficiency, this project has provided a convenient method of attendance marking compared to the traditional method of attendance system. By using databases, the data is more organized.
However, some further improvements can be made on this RFID in order to increase its reliability and effectiveness. An LCD screen can be incorporated into the system to indicate when any unregistered card is scanned. An IP camera can be integrated into this system to monitor the actions like buddy-punching wherein a person cheats by scanning for another person. Finally, this attendance system can be improved by adding a feature where the attendance system indicates when a student is late for work or classes as the case maybe.
The system is a low cost system which is designed to withstand any terrain and surrounding, providing tactical and surveillance and better comfort. RFID technology positively promises an increased effectiveness and improved efficiency for business and administrative processes. The successful design and implementation of an automated attendance system based on RFID technology has been successfully presented through the means of this paper.
The system developed provides an accurate, simple and cost effective means to register the attendance in educational institutions and effectively shifts the paradigm towards a digital and contactless environment. Moreover, owing to the compactness and the portability of the system, it makes it all the more conducive to be deployed as and when required.
