First week
Set-up
Here's your Tech Classes set-up document. You may want to print this out and check things off as you get them done for each class. Go through this document well before the first day you teach technology so you're prepared!
Print off this Beginning-of-Year technology sequence guide. It outlines everything for the first few weeks. It outlines the skills each grade level needs and how to teach them.
Print off this Skills checklist for each K and 1st grade class you teach.
Print off this Skills checklist for each 2nd-5th grade class you teach. You'll check off skills as they are mastered.
First tech class:
Please note: If students do not have Chromebooks in hand yet, wait to go over the Chromebook usage and care points until they do.
Talk to every class about responsible Chromebook usage as soon as they have devices in hand. Print out these talking points so you get them all.
Please also go through this slide show on Chromebook care with every class. Here are the notes to print out for points to make on each slide. (This is the slide show linked to on the first page as well)
K & 1: Go through this slideshow with them. This link forces you to make your own copy because you'll be typing in answers as you talk through all the slides with the class. Make it interactive. Take your time and really teach. It's better to be slow and thorough than just hit the highlights and move on.

Links are live in the following documents. You'll want to print them out to teach from, but also have the files ready on the computer attached to your ActivPanel so you can click the links for the slide shows. There may also be hand-outs that need to be printed. Go over the lesson plans ahead of time and see what all you will need. If you haven't made an account on Common Sense Media before, you'll need to do that the first time you try to access their resources.
2nd grade: Who is in your online community
3rd grade: Your rings of responsibility Instead of having a real bowl of water, you can use this video.
