Here's a great way to have students practice typing their passwords and their names. Include how to use the Enter key and the Shift key and they're learning basic skills!
Use your app launcher (waffle) to open Google Docs.
2. Once Google Docs is open, copy the address in the address bar: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/?tgif=d
(Just click once on the address and it's all highlighted. Then click ctrl C.)
3. Go back to Classwize and open Class Tools. Select Open site.
4. Ctrl V to paste in the https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/?tgif=d address and then [Open Site}.
5. Tell students to click the big plus sign that's on the white page. This will open a new document for them.
6. Put up this image of a keyboard on your ActivPanel. Demonstrate how to type the password and the enter key. Have students type their password and press Enter several times.
7. Use the keyboard on your screen to demonstrate holding down the shift key while typing a letter for a capital letter. Remind them not to hold letter keys down a long time. Just tap and release. Have them practice their names several times in a row.
