Behavior Management

Behavior Management

On the first day of school the class collaborated together and created a Social Contract. This is a contract about how we want to treat each other.

We have 3 rules in our class outside of the Social Contract. I often refer to these rules as personal standards. These standards are:

1. Show Respect. 2. Make Good Decisions. 3. Solve Problems

We also use the Learner Profile monthly trait to create a T-graph to focus on positive ways we should act/interact with others.

Consequences for Positive Behavior:

Students who exhibit our 3 personal standards or the qualities on our Social Contract or Learner Profile Trait may be recognized by their classmates or me and given awards, stars or earn owl bucks and class points for a positive reinforcement.

Consequences for Negative Behavior:

Students who are not following one of the personal standards or a quality on our Social Contract will receive the following consequences:

a. Verbal Warning and/or other students “checking” to help the student

b. Verbal Warning by teacher

4 reflective questions:

1.What were you doing? 2. What were you supposed to be doing? 3. Were you doing it? 4. What are you going to do?

3. Lose points

4. Administration involvement
