Want an easy way to build community and help students connect with the course material in an asynchronous class? In an assignment adapted from Polly Laubach and enhanced by Beth Eyres during the Peralta Equity Rubric training (so not invented by me at all, but it is a fun title), students Show & Tell each week. Using Padlet, students spend 5 minutes sharing a bit about their lives using prompts that preview the course material. Students ❤️, comment on, and hashtag different posts as we all learn about one another. Definitely a 1.21 gigawatts assignment!
