7th Grade Lab on Natural Resource Investigation:
Students used maps to identify areas in the United States that have natural resource deposits comparing them with the type of sedimentary rock that form in those areas. Afterward, they took the knowledge that they gained from their research and tested three types of rocks; looking for identifying qualities that would explain the different types of sedimentary rock that natural resources are found.
7th Grade studied convection currents with hot and cold objects, and colored water. Additionally, they explored rock layers and time periods!
Our middle schoolers were Skyping with a scientist during Science, creating maps to diagram the Iliad in reading, and cartooning the Acts of the Revolution in history.
8th Grade explored how molecules are built. They learned about single, double, and triple bonded elements. They learned how elements are bound, and how the states may change during a chemical reaction.
Mrs. Braun and her middle school science classes worked on building models to represent an atom.
7th Grade investigated how the slope of the land affects the speed of an alpine glacier moves downhill. They created polymer glaciers with glue and borax and then used three different angles of their ramp to test the speed of the glacier as it moved down their Alpine slopes.
