IMPORTANT INFORMATION: ILP Applications Due SEPTEMBER 12TH- NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED BEYOND THIS DATE!
Weekly Expectation:
Your student should contact you before Friday to let you know how they are meeting the goals established for their ILP and what they have accomplished during the week.
When the student communicates with you, please ask them about their experience so far. Give suggestions on ways they can continue to meet their goals.
If possible, teach or explain to your student about their ILP topic.
Each week, you will receive an "ILP Check-In" via the email address provided on the application. This is a great opportunity for you to give feedback to the school on your students progress.
Quarterly Expectations:
Students should spend approximately 25 hours working toward the goals established for their ILP.
Spend some time toward the end of each 9 weeks discussion what your student has learned and accomplished during the quarter.
Your student will need to complete an "End of 9 Weeks Log." This form can be found in the resource section below. It is important that you sign the form so the student can submit it for credit.
End of Year Expectations:
By the end of the year, your student should have spent approximately 100 hours working toward the goals established for their ILP. That is 100 hours of learning outside of our brick and mortar school, thanks to your efforts!
Your student will need to collaborate with you to develop a presentation showcasing what they have learned through their independent learning plan.
The students presentation should have artifacts that show this. See resources below for presentation rubric.
This year we would like to invite all mentors to be present at their students end of year presentation.
More information will follow, but the dates for this will be May 5th, 7th, and 9th from 1:30 - 3:00pm. The specific date of your students presentation will be determined in late April.
