Connor M. McMullen- Director of Bands
Mr. McMullen is entering his second year of teaching after beginning his career at Gallia Academy High School in the fall of 2025. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 2025 with a degree in Music Education. While in school, Mr. McMullen was a part of multiple ensembles such as The Ohio State University Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, Trumpet Studio, Gospel Choir, and small chamber groups. His primary instrument is the trumpet, though he also taught himself to play guitar and enjoys performing on both instruments in his free time.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. McMullen enjoys a variety of hobbies, including hiking, golf, disc golf, and other outdoor activities. He is an avid sports fan, especially during Ohio State Buckeyes football season, and never misses a game. He also supports several Detroit professional sports teams, including the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Pistons.
As he begins the upcoming school year, Mr. McMullen looks forward to continuing to refine his teaching style while growing into the best music educator he can be.
Marilyn E. Kibble-Wills - Assistant Director of Bands
Mrs. Wills is starting her 26th year of teaching music. She received a Master’s degree in Music Education with Kodaly emphasis from The Kodaly Institute at Capital University Conservatory of Music in 2006. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with piano emphasis from the University of Rio Grande in 1999.
She taught music at Washington Elementary for the last 9 years where she taught students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grades. She also co-directed the C.A.T.S. Choir with Mr. Christian Scott.
She is a member of the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA), the National Association for Music Education (Nafme), Delta Kappa Gamma and Organization of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE) . She was awarded the Washington Elementary “Teacher of the Year” in 2017 and recently recognized for 21 years of service in the Gallipolis City School District. She began teaching music with Gallipolis City Schools as director of the Gallia Academy High School Madrigals, Symphonic Choir, Concert Choir and Women’s Concert Choir. She also created and taught the Technical Theater class from 2002-2013. While at GAHS she directed the spring musical productions from 2002-2013.
She directed the Gallia Academy 7th & 8th Grade Symphonic Choir from 2002- 2010 and again in 2012-2014 (Co-directed 2014- 2021). Under her direction the 7th & 8th Grade Symphonic Choir earned 8 Superior ratings and 3 Excellent ratings at the annual OMEA Jr. High Large Group Adjudicated event. Her students also participated in the OMEA Solo & Ensemble event each year.
She enjoys spending time with her family, photography, gardening and advocating for children and adults with Autism. She also enjoys serving as accompanist for various school events, musicals, community events and weddings. She lives in Gallipolis with her husband, Jason, son, Jennings and daughter Josephine.
