Making our bodies Stronger

To be able to write effectively and be able to maintain writing stamina, it is essential to build body strength to support the development of our fine and gross motor skills.

Practice these different body positions to build you muscle strength ready for writing.

Pencil Hold

Learning to maintain an optimal pen or pencil hold using the 3 Friends song.

Letter Formation and Spacing

Every letter has a specific starting place when being formed.

Letters start at either brave monkey's (Bounce) or scared monkey's (Skip) branch.

Some letters 'pull in' or 'bump' to sit on the line.

Some letters go 'on down' and have a tail that goes under the line.
