The recently concluded 17th Ateneo Workshop on Ignatian Leadership for Life (AWILL) marked the return of the flagship offering of the Office of Student Affairs’ Ateneo Leadership Development Program, was held from July 23 to 26, 2025, at the Arrupe Convention Hall. The seminar-workshop took place during the novenary period leading up to the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Over four days, 81 student leaders engaged in sessions focused on self-awareness, mission, and leadership through team-building activities, personal reflection, spiritual conversations, and workshops rooted in Ignatian values.
The workshop opened with a team-building session, “Company Placed Together by Christ,” led by Leciel Ramos, followed by Val Dominic Monit’s session, “Right Where You Are: Reflective Leadership,” which emphasized self-awareness and Gospel-based leadership.
On the second day, Fr. Jboy Gonzales, SJ, discussed leadership as a faith-based calling and introduced situational leadership styles guided by discernment and service.
On the third day, Tats Quiblat led a session on Ignatian leadership through the themes of identity, freedom, responsibility, and depth.
The final session, “The World Becomes Our House: Being Persons for and with Others,” was delivered by Fr. Ari Dy, SJ, who encouraged students to apply their leadership beyond the university context. The Formation Support Service Offices also reintroduced programs designed to support student organizations in their leadership development.
The 17th AWILL reinforced the ongoing formation of student leaders, emphasizing leadership that is grounded in purpose, reflection, and service.
