Digital Resources for HE Academic Research

LRC staff support both PCs and Macs and the software available also includes: Adobe Suite including Photoshop; Indesign; Illustrator; Fireworks; After Effects; Lightroom; Premiere Pro; Autodesk Suite including 3DS Max; Maya; Unreal Engine; Unity Substance package for the gaming industry; and blogging applications including WordPress.

Workshops may be booked on a 1:1 basis or in small groups for using these software applications and also for support with researching using the digital resources, referencing, document layout, preparing for electronic submission and hard copy printing.

ATHENS is an essential academic resource when studying at a higher education level and all students at GBMC have free access. Updated daily this extensive resource is a multi-disciplinary database with full text coverage of almost 4,700 scholarly publications, including full text coverage of over 3,600 peer-reviewed journals dating as far back as 1975. You will need to activate your account and familiarise yourself with the search options, but once you get going it will be invaluable in helping you to succeed in your studies.

GB MET Discovery hosted by EBSCO Discovery Service is used to search all library resources including online databases and allows higher education students to access a wealth of useful academic resources including:
