Learning Resource Centres (LRCs)

Our LRCs are at the centre of college life and provide access to a range of computers, flexible study areas and course-related resources, including both online and a large library collection. Additionally students can book workshops and 1:1 sessions to develop their information literacy, research and software skills. Our skilled and enthusiastic Learning Resource Team provide support to guide you through your higher education academic experience, including:

LRCs (Libraries)

The library service has a collection of over 80,000 books, a large periodical collection, DVDs, music CDs and access to various online resources. Relevant items can be borrowed from any of our campus LRCs by presenting a current College ID card. Our friendly and approachable staff are on hand to help you navigate the library catalogue and help you find academic texts to support your studies.

Learning & Research Centres (previously FLAs)

In addition to the main LRC at West Durrington Campus, there are specialist Learning and Research Centres for different subject areas. These centres offer guidance and support on the use of software packages and access to a wide range of cuttings, slides, periodicals and other textual and visual materials, A2 scanner, large-format printer and online resources. Students are able to continue their learning and academic research in an independent manner, use specialised equipment, explore new media and access our Virtual Learning Environment with a friendly team on hand who are skilled in supporting creative arts. Interactive and visually engaging curriculum reading lists can be created and easily accessed using the Google VLE. They contain links to book information and digital resources and showcase relevant journal and periodicals.
