"Creating a virtual Google Classroom was so much fun. Be careful, it's addicting though! It was exciting to find books and lessons for the students to click on. Finding items to add to our virtual classroom that matches items in our real room was challenging! Try it! You won't be sorry you did!"
-Sheryl Boegner, Myers Elementary
"Remote learning has given me the opportunity to learn and use some pretty fun ways to connect with my students using the various options in Google Drive. I love using bitmojis in my classroom so, when I saw an example of a virtual classroom with a bitmoji, I could not resist. I plan to use my virtual classroom to address students' IEP goals by changing out the lesson on the whiteboard, but also provide a variety of SEL activities for fun. I can't wait to see their reactions when I meet with them virtually to explore my classroom. "
-Laura Carlson, Perry Innovation Center
"I created my virtual classroom originally to show it to my kids during a Google Meet just to all have a connection back to things we recognize from our classrooms. But, then I became addicted and started thinking of how I could use it for my playlist, maybe to just link fun things for the kids to find or even as an escape room activity as I have seen a few places. My mind has started thinking how I can use this for new student orientation ideas and for new parents next year to get to know me and to have to click on things and learn about my room procedures, technology platforms I use in the classroom, etc.... The ideas are limitless right now. I am a bitmoji addict and am having so much fun with it. It takes my mind off everyday tasks and allows me to dream and play...while planning school things!"

"A parent was observing off camera while I did some math with her child. Truthfully, I did not even know she was observing. After I was finished with her child, the mom came on and said, "That was very interesting to see how you asked my daughter questions and got the math to come out of her. I liked that." What a great thing to increase the questioning skills of a parent!"

"I have been supporting students 1:1 with reading, using the Razkids site. Using Google Meet, I present a book to the student. I show them various books at their level, and they choose the book each time. Some students prefer to read the entire book and others like to partner read with me."
Kim Thompson- Parapro at Indian Hill
"There were several students who would pop onto my virtual office hours in the hopes of running into friends. I also saw that during class meetings the students main interest was talking to one another. So I decided to dedicate the last 20 minutes of my office hours each day to virtual recess. The first minute is always sweetly awkward, but then they're quickly playing and laughing. It's really great! It's been heartwarming to facilitate a few minutes of play each day!"

"The kids love are connecting on FlipGrid and Google Meets and have been known to call others we havent seen.
I've included a life skills challenge each week. The learn to change the TP roll was hysterical - kids sent in videos! "
Maureen Callahan- 3rd grade McGrath
"In first grade, we have been using flipgrids for students to share their retelling of a specific story. It is so fun to watch the kids retell, and they are able to watch each other's retelling of the same book!"

"Seesaw has been a very easy platform to push through lessons whether we make them or we pull through their activities"
~Jen McDaniel- Kindergarten at Cook
Flat Callahan's have gone out to all my kids to take pictures of "me" with them while we are away.
Maureen also sent out 16 confetti bombs to kids who are working hard!
Jen and Robin wrote a personalized note to their students using sidewalk chalk and then delivered a book to each student.
