*GBEC 12th grade students are not eligible to apply for the Genesee Go!* ONLY GBEC students in their 13th year are eligible to apply*
The entire application can be completed in less than five minutes.
Both in-state and out-of-state training programs and/or post-secondary educational institutions qualify.
Training programs could include business/industry certification training, apprenticeships, career center certification classes, etc.
Funds can be used for training or courses that are not ordinarily taken as an activity course, hobby, craft, or recreational course.
Funds cannot be used in the subject areas of physical education, theology, divinity, or religious education.
The Genesee Opportunity Stipend can only be issued to licensed and accredited colleges and training institutions and is paid directly to the college or training institution.
Transcripts
When applying to college you will need to send both a copy of your high school AND college transcript.
If you plan to transfer to another post-secondary institution, you will need to request your UM-Flint transcript by requesting a certified copy in your SIS system or by click the link below.
If you plan to stay at UM-Flint after your 5th year, you will need to re-apply. By applying as a freshman with college credit, you will qualify for all freshman scholarships that are available. You do not need to send a copy of your college transcript to UM-Flint but you will need to send a copy of your high school transcript (instructions below).
You will need to request your high school transcript through Parchment.
When requesting your high school transcript, set your GRADUATION YEAR TO 2023. This will prevent you from being charged.
DO NOT use your GBHS email. When creating your Parchment account you must use a personal email address.
