About Mrs. hobbs

I grew up and graduated from Gates County High School in 2000. I then earned my Bachelor's Degree from East Carolina University with a major in Elementary Education. I taught 4th grade for 6 years in Greene County before moving back home to Gates County. I then taught 6th Grade at Chowan Middle School with Edenton-Chowan Schools for 10 years. This is my 6th year with Gates County Schools and the second year that I am out of the classroom and into this new role of AIG Coordinator for the county. I am a National Board Certified Teacher as well as AIG Certified and I love technology and love to learn new things!

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Chad, for 17 years and have 2 sons, Colton (12 years old) and Dylan (6 years old). I love spending time with my family!! :) When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends, taking our camper out, doing puzzles, reading, and playing games on my phone.

About Mr. Riddick

Hello, everyone. My name is Gage Riddick. Some of you may already know me, but I want to share some information about myself. I was born and raised here in Gates County. I also graduated from Gates County High School in 2018. Then I transitioned to Eastern Mennonite University, where I played baseball for all four years and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education in 2022. After graduation, I was lucky enough to start working at Ann Kilgore Gifted Center in Hampton, VA, for the past three years. There, I was fortunate enough to get my gifted endorsement through the University of Phoenix.

I am engaged to my lovely fiancée, Anne-Logan, and we will be getting married in May 2026. When I am not teaching weight training either at CMS or GCHS or working with our AIG students, I enjoy coaching baseball, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to a great year!!
