School office hours for parents without internet access to pick up work packets are 9-12 M/W/F and 1-4 T/Th. Parent needs to contact the school first so that your items can be found and put outside for you to pick up.

Principal Steiner will be preparing a phone message to parents as well as posting the same message on Facebook and Twitter today regarding the latest information from Gaston County Schools.

The packet from last week that the district office provided was good for the period ending tomorrow. I have been posting 2 pages per day in Google Classroom at 8:00 am, as well as help at 8:15 and then the answers at 4:00 pm.

Submitting the work from the packet is optional this week. Here are instructions that I have already posted to Google Classroom for the students to submit any work they do on paper next week:

I will have "office hours" beginning next Monday from 10:00 - 11:00. This is for me to take calls from parents and students that may have questions or need help. My Google Voice phone number that is tied to my cell phone is 704-879-5171.

I will answer emails from parents and students and Google Classroom messages from students from 8:00 - 3:00 daily.

Middle school math teachers have been directed to post lessons by week and this will start Monday. According to guidance from the district, students should complete 2 i-Ready lessons in their pathway per week and 3 lessons from me that I create per week. As directed from the district, my lessons will build upon what the students have already been taught this school year. My lessons will include Google Slides with voice narration, help videos, Quizziz, Khan Academy resources and other things. Students are familiar with all of this except for the voice narration.

I hope all parents and students are doing as well as can be expected and I hope everyone is healthy. Hopefully students will want to complete these lessons and at the same time not feel stressed out or overwhelmed while completing them. Just encourage them to do their best.

Go to your child's class page and click on a specific day on the calendar for details on any work that may have been missed due to an absence, or just to look at that day's lesson. You can also have your child log into Google Classroom to show you what they have been working on.
